Introducing McMinnville Chiropractor Dr. Jeffrey McKinley

"My friends and professors thought I was crazy," remembers Dr. McKinley. "Why do you want to be a Chiropractor, when you could be a medical doctor?"

Since the teacher first asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Dr. McKinley's answer was, "A doctor!" However, when he was in seventh grade, his best friend's father was a chiropractor, and he was intrigued. Here was a way to help people become healthy, and stay healthy, without having to take drugs or have surgery. That was the kind of doctor he wanted to be.

McMinnville Chiropractor, Dr. Jeffrey McKinleyDr. McKinley attended David Lipscomb University to obtain his Bachelors degree. He did so for two reasons. One, it was a Christian school, and two, because the pre-med curriculum there had a 100% acceptance rate into medical school. It was there that his Anatomy and Physiology professor, an MD, tried to persuade him to go to medical school. "I told him that I wanted to be a Chiropractor. Being able to help people by using my hands, and without drugs and surgery, now that is exciting." Dr. McKinley then attended Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, graduating in December of 1989.

Tracing the roots of his practice back to 1922 means that you receive more than just fast pain relief, you receive a tradition of professional care.  "Pain is not the real problem.  It is a warning sign of an underlying condition," says Dr. McKinley.  As Warren County's only Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, Dr. McKinley has the expertise to identify the true cause of your worst injury pain, so he can treat the real problem, and keep the pain from returning.

Dr. McKinley is married and has four children, all girls!  His daughters play volleyball, basketball, and softball, so it is a good thing that he is a Chiropractic Sports Physician.  He also enjoys playing golf, and takes his girls with him, but Dr. McKinley confesses, "The girls say they want to play golf with me, but the real thrill for them is driving the golf cart."

Your health is one of the greatest possessions you have.  "I try to educate and encourage my patients to live a healthy lifestyle.  Good health is something for which you have to work.  As a Chiropractor, I am your health coach."  To this end, Dr. McKinley walks daily, goes to the gym, and sees his chiropractor at least once a month.  This helps to keep him healthy so that he can, in turn, keep you healthy.

Dr. Jeffrey Asks some important questions of interest to McMinnville residents - Chiropractor McMinnville Dr. Jeffrey Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
Why do so many drugs require a prescription?
Because they can be dangerous? I chose a chiropractic career specifically because it avoids artificial means of pain relief. Our McMinnville chiropractic practice attracts health-conscious families that prefer a safe and natural solution. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
